Hey guys and welcome to the Moms and Mysteries podcast, a true crime podcast featuring myself, Mandy, and my dear friend Melissa. Hi, Melissa. Hi, Mandy. How are you? I'm doing well. We are recording in a Florida afternoon trying to beat the clock on the afternoon thunderstorms, but I'm doing well.

Nine years later, and we still haven't really gotten this part down, like this,

the shock over an afternoon thunderstorm has never left me. And it's so stupid for planning.

Every time I do this, I think, why wouldn't I have said, let's just do the morning?

That would have made so much more sense. But here we are. I'm not jaded. I'm not spicy. I'm not any of

those things right now. I just, I'm here. To be fair, we have had a pretty dry year so far. So I guess I

like got used to that and just like forgot that it actually does rain and thunderstorm here a lot. And so now that it's starting to do that, I'm like, oh. I know. My son isn't currently scared of thunderstorms. We'll see what happens, TBD. So I haven't, it hasn't been the only thing in my brain lately. So I'll give myself a little bit of a pass on that. Hopefully,

fingers crossed, we'll make it through. Actually, I'm not even putting that out there in the universe.

We'll make it through. Forget it. Okay. So if you guys were back with us in January or listening to us

back in January, you might remember that we did a massive episode where we laid out 10 cases that we were going to be

watching closely during the first half of 2026. And it's weird to think that we are already

halfway through 2026. But we talked about trials that were really just getting started at that time

and verdicts that were just right around the corner. And there were a few cases that had been

dragging on for years that finally seemed like this year they might be heading somewhere.

And like I said, here we are. First half of the year is over. It's been a wild ride in the courtroom.
