Three minutes after ten is the time. I'm not, apparently, I'm not allowed to spend three hours asking why Nigel's so unhappy.

I thought he wanted Brexit after all. Could it possibly be that he's motivated entirely by self-interest and self-advancement

and never even actually gave much of a monkeys about leaving the European Union at all.

Saw it all as a massive career opportunity.

But anyway, I won't do that.

It would be trivial and disrespectful to my esteemed listener.

So what will we do?

I have a bit of a problem.

I've got several problems, but I have a bit of a

particular problem this morning because I don't really see much point in discussing or asking

whether it will pass tomorrow. And that's all about arithmetic. It's up in the air and we won't

know until the tellers return to the speaker and tell him what the numbers are.

And it frightens me, as you know, that we're still not asking, should it pass?

As in the why of it, not just the what.

But we are where we are.

And I think having spent three and a half years asking people why

they want this and not hearing and correct me if I'm wrong it's all in the archives not hearing

one single cogent answer to that question despite probably having asked more Brexiters than

anybody else in the world why they actually want to leave every single reason we've been given has turned out to be either mistaken or nonsensical. We're still here.

Hand-on hearts, I thought the numbers would be different by now. I thought the gap would be bigger. I don't know which way round, but I just thought the gap would be bigger. I thought it would have become either impossible to resist the notion that

nothing is better than remaining, or it would have become impossible to cling to that notion
