Greetings, parish orphans and retrogrades. Like many of you, I just watched Erica Kirk's

remarkable Charlie Kirk remembrance speech. He's been passed for two days, a little over 48 hours,

probably 54 hours or so.

And his wife, who survives him, made this appearance very suddenly, very soon.

I didn't know what's going to happen outside of two hours ago.

And at first I thought this is remarkable.

You know, how is she doing this?

You know, what's she going to look like?

How is she going to come across?

But it was remarkably touching speech.

She delivered something that just hit everybody squarely in their fields.

And, you know, I was no different.

And there's different parts of the speech that I'm sure most people agreed were particularly poignant.

Because we're all human beings.

When something like the Charlie Kirk assassination happened,

it's almost sui generis.

I haven't really seen anything else like it.

But when hard things happen,

and this is one of the worst things I've ever seen,

decent people come together.

And that rests publica, that shared feeling, particularly among Christians, is something

that doesn't need to be expressed.
