I'm Chris Hayes.

I'll be along with my colleagues, Jorida and Jen Saki in Washington.

We are just moments away from a very rare prime time oval office address from the President

of the United States.

It comes tonight amid a desperate situation in the Middle East as the war there between

Israel and Hamas enters its 13th day.

Nearly 200 kidnap civilians, including American citizens, are still being held hostage or

a comment unaccounted for, militants continue to fire rockets into Israel and Israeli

airstrikes continue to strike targets inside Gaza, contributing to a worsening humanitarian

crisis amid a Israeli blockade that left people with limited access to food, power, medicine

and clean water for more than a week.

President Biden just returned from Israel and his second trip as President to enact

war zone.

He visited Kiev in February and tonight he's expected to make an appeal to the American

people to continue supporting Ukraine and Israel, likely to seek billions of dollars

in military assistance for the two countries in addition to a hundred million dollars

in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank.

Tonight's address comes to the White House continues efforts to help negotiate a safe

return of the hostages, which Biden has called his top priority.

It also comes as Attorney General Merrick Garland today warned of a rise in threats to Arab

Muslim and Jewish communities here in the U.S.
