Summary

How can we expect our children to have a biblical worldview and know their identity according to God's word when they're so influenced by the world? Why is it so weird that parents want to actually have a say in the education of their children? Christian parents are often told we're "indoctrinating" our kids, yet as we continue our "world vs. word" series, in this epsiode we explore the idea that it's *all* indoctrination. Public school, home school, higher education, etc. all have an agenda and an end goal in mind. For us, our goal is simple- to follow the example given in the Scriptures and teach our children the word of God.

0:39.0	house, I'm Jordan and I'm Elena and we're really excited to continue with this series on how we are looking at the world around us and seeking to opt out of the systems that we feel are contrary and counter to God's word and how we might offer some alternative solutions
0:57.9	to you all who might feel the same and are just objectively observing things saying, how do I continue to raise my
1:05.0	children and equip them in the world but not of the world and today we want to
1:10.5	look at the realm of education and what exactly we mean by education and how
1:17.4	we might seek to recover some of what has been lost from the time of the scriptures and how we might seek to implement that today.
1:25.0	So honey, why don't you take us through kind of some of the world's view of
1:30.8	education and then we can kind of look at what God's word says in response to that.
1:36.4	Yeah. So first I wanted to read from Deuteronomy 6 which is what Jordan kind of already
1:41.6	talked about training and teaching our kids. In
1:44.3	Deuteronomy 6 it says and these words that I command you today shall be on your
1:48.6	heart you shall teach them diligently to your children and you should talk of them when you sit in your house and
1:54.4	when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise. You shall bind them as a
1:58.4	sign on your hand and they shall be fortlets between your eyes. You shall write
2:01.9	them on the door post of your house and of your gates.
2:04.7	And I feel like when you read that it can seem so extreme. But now in the world that we live in today,
2:10.3	I understand why it was written out so extreme and the reason why Jordan I have had
2:15.8	such a burning desire to share about this is because I think a lot of us just go
2:21.6	through life just doing what we've always done and always been
