Summary

The Supreme Court upheld federal regulations on ghost guns, and while we won’t spoil the surprise, let’s just say the dissenting justices were about as predictable as a Hallmark movie plot. And in a rare moment of political optimism, Democrats flipped a Pennsylvania seat in a special election—yes, in a district Trump won by 15 points. Could this be a sign that Democrats are eyeing wins in previously untouchable territories? Fingers crossed.
And finally, a federal judge blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to detain and deport a 21-year-old Columbia student and green card holder during a protest. Oh, and just to round things out, we learn that Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old member of Elon Musk’s DOGE team (who goes by “Big Balls,” because of course he does), once provided network support to a cybercrime group known for harassment and data theft. Because why not?
