Summary

As we continue our week on living in and pursuing the light, today we’ll explore how we as God’s people are called out of darkness and to the light. Our new inheritance as God’s saints is to step out of hiding, and walk in full vulnerable honesty before God and man. May you be strengthened in grace and integrity today as you’re re-envisioned toward your calling to the light.

Our Scripture for today comes from Ephesians 5:8, and today's worship is Let There Be Light by Hillsong.

Several times throughout scripture, we read stories about people who go through various struggles and bear witness to the story that God has woven through their determination, faith, willingness to yield to the Lord in prayer and to be courageous in all the ways that He calls them to be. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is the most compelling of them all as it tells the story of the God who loved his people and his creation so much that he chose to live among them, to sacrifice on their behalf, to redeem their lives, and to be and example of how to live in a way that honors the Lord, welcomes the kingdom of heaven in their lives, and anticipates the glory of the Lord in every beautiful way. It is our prayer that you would be encouraged today to seek the Holy Spirit and all his benefits as you journey with the Lord along the path on which he is leading you.

0:45.4	In Colossians 1, 11 through 14, Paul prayers a powerful prayer in his letter to the church in Colossay, and I believe it's God's heart for you and me today. Scripture says,
0:51.9	may you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might,
0:56.3	for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified
1:01.5	to you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the
1:07.0	domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son,
1:11.9	in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
1:15.5	You and I have been redeemed from living bound to darkness and have been given a new name,
1:21.2	saints and light.
1:22.8	We've been delivered from the dark things of this world that previously defined us
1:27.1	and ushered into a new
1:29.1	kingdom filled with the light of God. Ephesians 5-8 says, for at one time you were darkness,
1:36.6	but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light. As children of the light,
1:43.4	we must learn to walk in our new inheritance.
1:46.4	We must learn what it is to be disciples marked by the characteristics of our father's kingdom.
1:52.3	The powerful sacrifice of Jesus has afforded us an opportunity to no longer live as those of the world.
1:59.2	We belong to a kingdom that stretches past the span of this life
2:03.3	through the unending reach of eternity. God's kingdom will have no end. His goodness and mercies
2:11.0	will never cease. A relationship found on the good, pleasing principles of his kingdom is eternal. But while we live on this
