Summary

"If I'm on my deathbed, bring on the horse tranquilizer. That's the way to go out." Joined by parenting expert, Bev Ginsberg, these two Jersey girls get on a soapbox explaining life to our millennial producer. "I'm 70 years old - gimme a good time!" Bev has a bone to pick with Anne Frank. Yes, she's gonna start a twitter feud with the ghost of Anne Frank. If you enjoyed this episode, tune the heck in to Bev's new podcast THE HUMAN CONDITION. It's a hoot and a holler and just what you need this quarantine szn.

**DISCLAIMER** first of all, this was recorded BEFORE coronavirus. Vicky has not been out werking. Nobody has. Second of all, cocaine is bad. Especially during a respiratory pandemic. Stay safe and avoid horse tranquilizer.

Oh snap! We're here for a new show called Doing Great.

0:12.0

I am Viggy Vox, and today's show, it is a pure pleasure to welcome the guest. I have no

0:17.3

idea for where she's from, but she's going to tell us, welcome Beverly G. Beverly Ginsburg, self-appointed self-help parenting expert. And I'm from Massachusetts, Vicki Vox. Started in Massachusetts. I started in Massachusetts. And now I'm in Los Angeles, California, because the weather's so much better. Is that why you came? Are you from New Jersey? I am from New Jersey. So we're both from the East Coast.

0:38.0

It's not wonderful.

0:38.6

We have absolutely nothing else in common. But we can start that we're both from the East Coast. Yes. Oh, is that wonderful? I do miss the East Coast sometimes. Vicki Vox. Can I tell you a little secret? Please. I saw you perform. Where? Brighton Palm Springs in a Hawaiian bar.

0:35.9

Oh, uh-huh.

0:36.6

And it was like they had tiki drinks.

0:38.5

Two calves tiki lounge, yes.

0:39.9

Yeah, there were two kiv. you perform. Where? Brighton Palm Springs in a Hawaiian bar. Oh, uh-huh.

0:54.4

It was like they had tiki drinks.

0:56.3

Two-KF tiki lounge, yes.

0:57.7

Yeah, there were two-kats.

0:58.4

Okay, let me tell the audience something about Vicky Vox.

1:01.6

What?

1:01.8

Ficky Vox, it doesn't need fancy reality shows, okay?

1:05.1

Uh-oh.

1:05.5

No, I like, I'm perfectly happy with that reality show. But I'm saying to the world that not everything needs to be learned from real. Sometimes there's talent that just goes on its own path. Hey, I agree. You're on your own goddamn path. I don't have to write headphones on. Okay, you know what? You look adorable in your little head. Look like that she's small for your head. But Vicky Vox got up there and performed, and I said, that's a professional. A professional whore. I'm a professional whore. I said, there's no question that Vicky Vox does not spend every night getting lured into the clutches of someone who wants to pay her for some kind of service. I don't know what. But I can tell you right now, that was, you're really, you're genuinely talented. Thank you. You're the real deal. And you're alive before. You come alive when you're on stage. I do actually. But you're also very centered. What I notice is that you were very calm. Vicky Fox is like, is the embodiment of, What's his name with the Chicago Bob Fawsey. You're like Bob Fawsey as a drag queen. All you do is move like, you have one eye move, or one lip move, or one phrase that you're phrasing, and all the attention is on you. You don't have to do a big goddamn drop, dead drop or whatever. I try to tell people, it takes lot of work to look this lazy. A hundred percent. It really does. I thought you're barely doing anything and I'm entertained. That's what I love about being. I try to work smarter, not harder, you know? I don't care what you wanted to call it, okay? I enjoyed it. I enjoy you, Bev. I really do. Thank you so much. You bring the light into the room and you walk in.

2:35.8

Oh, my God.

2:36.4

You know what?

2:36.7

I'm upbeat.

2:37.8

I try to see things as positive. It's hard. Positive. Not HIV positive, but you're a positive. You know, well, there's medicine for that. Yeah, that's right. So who cares? AIDS isn't a problem anymore. But when I was growing up, well, I mean, I wasn't growing.

2:32.8

I was a mother in the 80s, but you could get it from a toilet seat.
