On September 14th and 15th, PBS is gonna air Walt Disney an American experience. A two-part, four-hour biography that's gonna offer an unprecedented look at the life and legacy of one of America's most enduring and influential storytellers and business leaders.

Featuring rare archival footage from the Disney vaults, scenes from some of the greatest films, interviews with biographers, historians, animators and artists, it's really gonna tell stories about not just his triumphs but challenges along the way.

And this week I had a chance to sit down with a director and executive producer for a short interview and then I'm gonna share audio from a panel featuring the two that I moderated during a special live screening and preview.

The world premiere of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Rarely as Hollywood been so a god over the opening of a motion picture.

The town's been talking about it for a month. Practically the entire movie colony will be at the opening tonight and you're going along too.

On September 14th and the 15th PBS will be airing an unprecedented documentary covering the life of Walt Disney, the man not the brand.

I'm fortunate to be sitting with the executive producer Mark Sammels and managing director of the American experience Jim Dunford.

I'm smiling because we're talking about a four-hour documentary that probably could have been eight hours and still not cover everything and having a limited time to be able to talk to you is a challenge in and of itself.

That's the thing. When you cover a topic like Walt Disney, there is so much about just the person.

You know, you said the documentary ends at the time of his passing in 1966, but there is so much for tell me first how does a project like this even get started?

Well, we're a history series where the longest running history series on public television. This is our 27th season.
