Today is the 7th of July 2014, and around this time, 100 years ago, occurred the following events.

As the Austrian ambassador to Germany lunched with Kaiser Wilhelm II on Sunday the 5th of July, 1914, the Austro-Hungarian chief of staff, Conrad von Hotsendorf, was making a case directly to the Emperor Franz Josef himself.
