Hello and welcome to When Diplomacy Fails, episode 27.8, the Swedish Deluges Part 5.

In the last episode, we examined the decisions made by the Danish king to get involved in the war with Sweden,

as well as the significant treaty signed between the Poles and Brandenburgers that reimagined

East Prussia as a true possession of the electorate with no strings of homage attached.

Such a treaty was judged necessary to draw the electorate of Brandenburg out of his Swedish

alliance and push the Swedes further into their isolated corner.

In this final episode, we examine what was perhaps the most significant development of the entire five-year war, the campaign against Denmark.

By the end of the war, nobody could deny that Sweden hadn't triumphed over its old enemies in every aspect,
