congratulations and birthday wishes for Zach and the wonderful when diplomacy fails.

I was lucky enough to get a hold of one of the first episodes about Bannickburn for my own series,

which was something of a triumph, since it meant I didn't need to talk myself about the English getting walloped by the Scots,

not something I could ever enjoy. So thanks for that, Zach. And thanks also, Zach, for when

diplomacy fails. It's a fantastic show and I love Zach's style and Panache. So congratulations,

Zach, on your first birthday. And here's to many more.

Episode 21, The War of the League of Cambrai. So where have I been for the past few weeks?

Well, the unintended hiatus I put on this podcast is almost entirely due to the ridiculous

amount of work I had to do for my exams.

Okay, not really, but I did have exams, six of them in fact, and while I missed podcasting

severely, I knew that it was my responsibility

to learn such new exciting words as heteroscadasticity and multicholinity, neither of which Microsoft

Word recognizes as either words or terms. In all seriousness, though, the exams were hard, they are now finished, and I can now focus

exclusively on this podcast for the next four months or so. It's going to be a great summer

and a great new season of when diplomacy fails. I would like to remind you of a small

anniversary before we begin, though. You should have realised from that intro there, thanks to

David Crowther from a history of England, that when diplomacy fails is now officially one year old.
