Summary

Over the years, I've invested across the entire spectrum of real estate investments, from owning and managing an individual property and its tenant to buying and holding a REIT index fund. This has included investments with half a dozen crowdfunding sites, some individual syndicated investments bought directly from the syndicator and private real estate funds. Over time, I've gravitated more and more toward the real estate funds. In this episode I discuss the reasons why.

I was called to the floor from the ER for a code the other day. It wasn't actually a code. They just needed some assistance.

It turned out one of the patients had pulled out his dialysis catheter and blood all over the place.

It was pretty impressive the amount of blood that was underneath him once we rolled him up, which certainly explained why his blood pressure was 60 over 30.

Luckily, the nurse had stopped the bleeding with some direct pressure, and all the patient needed was some blood, which we promptly gave him.

As blood pressure, as you might imagine, became much more normal.

But even those little things you realize are life-saving interventions that we do all the time.
