I'm Wayne Resnick sitting in, and I want to go right to Jordana Miller, ABC News correspondent from Jerusalem.

I have not been talking about the situation over in Israel and Gaza for quite some time,

but there are at least three big developments, including one

that's coming right here to the United States as to that whole situation. So Jordana Miller,

welcome back to KFI. Thank you. And tell us what's going on. Well, the Israeli Prime Minister

is heading to the United States to Washington next week.

He's scheduled to meet with President Biden on Monday, despite his testing for COVID.

That meeting is still, as far as we understand, on the books.

And then Netanyahu will on Wednesday address the two houses of Congress.

He'll give a joint address.

Netanyahu says that he's going to lay out Israel's case for the war against Hamas

and make Israel's case for why it is a just war and how Israel is achieving its goals on the

battlefield.

It has to be said here in Israel, especially in Jerusalem, but not alone, really across the country.

Thousands, tens of thousands of Israelis have been protesting several days this week,

calling on Netanyahu to cancel the trip because the country is in the middle

of a war, the hostage crisis is ongoing.

There are new efforts to reach a ceasefire, and many people here think that this is not

the moment for Netanyahu to go to the United States, especially since the big dispute over weapons and the supply of weapons

and the pace of the weapons to Israel,

that dispute has been more or less settled.
