Welcome back. Thank you. And tell us about this plan to do a virtual roll call to nominate Joe Biden.

Hey there, Wayne.

Yeah, good to be back with you.

So this, I feel like in a lot of other universes that we don't currently live in would be a lot of inside baseball.

But what's really interesting about this virtual roll call for the DMC right now is the timing of it, right?

There was in place a two-week window where they would officially nominate, presumably, President Joe Biden, for his reelection campaign officially.

And that two-week window is and was set to fall before the actual in-person DNC in Chicago

later in August.

What has happened is that now they're proposing a one-week window, which would be like August 1st

to August 7th, still a week, two weeks before the DNC in Chicago.

And like I said, what's significant about it is a few things.

One is that it whittles down the window itself.

And two is that there was this, the whole reason why they were doing a virtual roll call was because it was to accommodate this ballot access issue that was happening in Ohio.

That has since been resolved.

And so now you have some DNC members that are saying, well, why are we doing this to begin with?

Because the optics suggest that we can't get consensus behind President Joe Biden, which we know outside of this technicality

certainly seems to be true as more members of Congress and prominent Democrats speak out against

his reelection campaign. So that's all that's all falling in tandem with each other.

And the bottom line is maybe there will be this virtual rule call before the DNC or maybe something will change and there will be an open convention in person in Chicago.
