According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, COVID has now killed more Americans than the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.

CDC estimates show the 1918 flu killed about 675,000 Americans, while nearly 680,000 have died from coronavirus.

So far, more than 32,000 deaths have been recorded this month, compared with about 28,000 in August.

Right now, the United States is averaging about 2,000 deaths per day.

On Monday, Florida reported more than 1,000 coronavirus deaths to the CDC.

The Miami Herald reports, about 91% occurred over the past 28 days, and about half of those people died in the last two weeks.
