You know, the months that we were gone in the weeks, House Republicans have uncovered

serious and credible allegations into President Biden's conduct. Taken together, these allegations

paint a picture of a culture of corruption. This logical next step will give our committees the full

power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public. That's exactly what we want

to know. The answers. That was part of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's announcement yesterday that the House

will begin an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

We'll have more of McCarthy's comments on this aggressive action just ahead.

Plus, we'll bring you reaction from both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill with even some Republican lawmakers questioning the Speaker's decision.

And meanwhile, a far-right member of the House who held up McCarthy's speakership bid earlier this year is now threatening daily attempts to remove him from the leadership role.

Good morning and welcome to way too early on this Wednesday, September 13th. I'm Jonathan Lemire, and thanks for starting

your day with us. We'll begin this morning with an impeachment inquiry in the House of Representatives.

These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption. And they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives.

That's why today I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into

President Joe Biden. That is Speaker Kevin McCarthy directing the House oversight, judiciary,

and Ways and Means Committees to open inquiry into President Biden centered on his family's

business dealings. Speaking yesterday, McCarthy called the inquiry a, quote, logical next step

as the GOP-led House seeks bank records and other documents from both the

president and his son, Hunter. This, despite widespread criticism from Democrats and some from across

his own party due to the lack of evidence that implicates the president. The speaker alleges that the Biden family received special treatment throughout this administration.

It appears that the president's family has been offered special treatment by Biden's own administration.

Treatment that not otherwise would have received if they were not
