And of course, today marks 22 years since the deadliest terrorist attack in American history, when hijacked planes were flown into the

World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the moment when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed

into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers worked together to stop the terrorists on board.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day. That attack defined a new era for Americans'

way of life and reshape the nation's both foreign and domestic policy. Hours from now,

commemorations will stretch from ground zero and beyond to observe the solemn anniversary.

President Biden will be returning from his overseas trip to India and Vietnam, and will

stop in Alaska, where he will speak with more than 1,000 service members and first responders

at a military base in Anchorage.
