Results are pouring in this morning after key primaries in New York in one of the most closely watched races this primary season.

NBC News projects that Congressman Jerry Nadler has won the Democratic primary for New York's 12th Congressional District.

He defeated his fellow incumbent Carolyn Maloney.

A third candidate in the race was Saraj Patal, former staffer for President Obama, who ran on a platform of generational change.

In New York's 17th District, Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney beat back a fierce

primary challenge from progressive state senator Alessandra Biagi by a roughly two-to-one

margin.

In the state's 10th district, race is still too close to call among a crowded field of Democratic

primary candidates there.

In Democratic Pat Ryan, has won the hotly contested special election in New York's 19th

Belweather District, defeating Republican Mark Molinaro.
