It is a very busy morning here in New York City,

both with our coverage of the Republican National Convention,

where Donald Trump just accepted the nomination for president for his party,

but also a major breaking news story developing right now involving a massive IT outage.

It's affecting airlines, computing services, and media organizations, including our own.

As you can see, today's show may look a little different than usual, but we are live to bring

you the latest. So let's dig

right in. It is a major Microsoft outage that has caused extensive disruptions across multiple

vital business sectors this morning around the globe. Broadcasters, airlines, stock exchange,

banks, and many more businesses have been impacted by these outages. It is a fast-moving story. The latest developments include from the

Wall Street Journal, reporting that an update from the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike

appeared to cause the outages for Microsoft users.

There's also impacts to travel.

American, Delta, and United Airlines have grounded all flights this morning.

The FAA says the grounding is caused by a communication issue.

In a new statement, American Airlines says this. We're aware of a technical issue with

CrowdStrike that's impacting multiple carriers. American is working with CrowdStrike to resolve

the issue as quickly as possible and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.

Now CrowdStrike, for its part, said the outage was due to an update that it is now rolling back.
