We have a president who is moving this country rapidly into authoritarianism.

My understanding is that the governor of California, the mayor of the city of Los Angeles, did not request the National Guard.

But he thinks he has a right to do anything he wants.

I've spoken to the sheriffs on the ground who have said they have things under control.

There is no need for the National Guard.

Gavin Newsom has shown an inability or unwillingness to do what is necessary there.

So the president stepped in.

That's real leadership.

Governor Newsom has proven that he makes bad decisions.

The president knows that he makes bad decisions.

And that's why the

president chose the safety of this community over waiting for Governor Newsom to get some sanity.

Some bipartisan reaction there to President Trump deploying the National Guard to Los Angeles

in response to protests over ice raids across the area. The question is, will the move

continue to escalate
