President Joe Biden today will take more significant action on immigration, with new protections for hundreds of thousands of undocumented people.

We'll go through what's in that executive action in just a moment.

Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, Senate Democrats appear ready to fast track a vote on banning bump stocks following

the Supreme Court's controversial decision to make them legal again.

A lot of news to get to this morning. We'll begin here. President Biden will take new executive

action today that will remove the threat of deportation for hundreds of thousands of people

who are married to United States citizens. The program, known as paroleole in Place would apply to about a half a million

undocumented immigrants. It would allow them to stay in the country while applying for green card

status. Current law requires them to return to their home countries to start such a process,

which can take years to complete.

To qualify, new applicants must have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years as of yesterday.

The president will also announce an executive action that will allow DACA recipients and other dreamers

to quickly receive work visas if they have graduated from a higher education

institution and have a high-skilled job offer in their area of study. Meanwhile, the Biden campaign

is calling out Donald Trump for saying he would take questions after a speech in Detroit

over the weekend and then leaving without

doing so. In a video posted to Twitter X yesterday, the campaign played the two moments back-to-back

in response to Trump attacking Biden for allegedly never taking questions from reporters.
