We're following breaking news here in Washington on two fronts at this early hour.

The House could be moments away from passing President Trump's massive spending bill.

We'll have live coverage from Capitol Hill.

But first, more news here in D.C.

Two Israeli embassy staff members were shot and killed. It happened just after

9 p.m. last night outside the Jewish Capitol Museum where an event was being held. Police say the

victims, a man and woman, were leaving the event when the suspect approached them and opened fire.

The suspect is now in custody. Police say he chanted free, free Palestine while being detained.

Ali, good morning.

With the suspect now in custody, investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.

They're working to pin down whether the shooting may have been hate-motivated

or potentially an act of terrorism.

Tragedy for the Jewish community and the country striking in the heart of the nation's capital,

where two Israeli embassy staff

members were shot and killed overnight while leaving an event at the Capitol Jewish Museum.

The suspect chanted free, free Palestine while in custody.

The suspect, 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, remains in custody as investigators look deeper into the

motive. Prior to the shooting, the suspect was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum.

He approached a group of four people, produced a handgun, and opened fire.
