We'll start with the news.

The U.S. has expanded the use of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine

for children as young as 12. The FDA declared that the vaccine is safe and offers strong protection

for younger teens, according to testing of more than 2,000 U.S. volunteers ages 12 to 15. That study found

no cases of COVID-19 among the fully vaccinated compared to 18

cases among adolescents that received the placebo. It also showed that the children developed

higher levels of virus-fighting antibodies than earlier studies. Younger teens will receive the

same two-dose regimen as adults and can expect similar side effects like a sore arm or flu-like fever, chills, and aches.

Shots can begin as soon as a federal vaccine advisory committee issues a recommendation for using the two-dose vaccine on children.

That announcement is expected tomorrow.
