As Russia continues to pummel eastern Ukraine, Moscow test launched a new

intercontinental missile that Vladimir Putin says will make its enemies, quote, think twice

before issuing any threats. Moscow's defense ministry said the test was a success, and that because

it used domestic technology, sanctions and supply chain issues won't affect

further production. The Pentagon says Russia did notify the U.S. about the launch in accordance

with treaty obligations and that it has not been deemed a threat to the United States or its allies.

The U.S. canceled its own missile test last month out of concern that it would seem by Russia

as a provocation during the war. In New York Times, David Sanger, writes this. Russia's missile launch,

quote, fed into a growing concern inside the Biden administration that Russia is now so isolated

from the rest of the world that Mr. Putin sees little downside to

provocative actions. Putin is now ordering his forces not to storm the last Ukrainian stronghold

in the besieged city of Maripal and instead continue blocking it so that not even a, quote,

fly can pass the notice. This just happened. Putin held in a

public event. Just a few minutes ago, we're seeing it here with his defense minister. His orders

come after the defense minister told him that the steel factory, where thousands of Ukrainian troops
