Police have arrested the man believed to be responsible for the worst shooting in the history of New York City's subway system.

Frank James reportedly called police to turn himself in yesterday.

One day after he allegedly opened fire on board a crowded train in Brooklyn,

shooting at least 10 people, and leaving more than a dozen others injured.

According to NBC news sources, James told the NYPD dispatcher, quote,

This is Frank. You guys are looking for me. My phone is about to die.

When investigators tracked the 62-year-old suspect down in lower Manhattan, he reportedly said to officers, quote, I've been waiting for you all day.

Speaking virtually because of a COVID-19 diagnosis, New York City Mayor Eric Adams addressed residents yesterday following the arrest.

It said to New Yorkers, we want to protect the people of this city and apprehend those

who believe they can bring terror to everyday New Yorkers.

And I want to thank everyday New Yorkers. And I want to thank every day New Yorkers who called in tips, who responded, who helped

those passengers who were injured.

33 shots, but less than 30 hours later, we're able to say, we got it.

James will appear in federal court later this morning.

Everyone injured in Tuesday's attack is expected to recover.

The suspect is facing a federal charge of carrying out a violent attack on a mass transit system.

The charge carries a possible life sentence, and it was used in a previous conviction of a subway

attack back in 2017 when a man was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of

detonating a pipe bomb in a tunnel near Times Square.

Going overseas now, Ukrainian president, Voldemirere Zelensky continues to plead with the West

for more weapons in his country's war with Russia.
