On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against al-Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

Last year, we removed 10,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

Another 23,000 will leave by the end of the summer.

After that, reductions will continue at a steady

pace with more and more of our troops coming home. And as our coalition agreed, by the end of 2014,

the Afghans will be fully responsible for the security of their country.

My original instinct was to pull out, but all my life, I've heard that

decisions are much different when you sit behind the desk. Wow, major news expected today on the

war in Afghanistan, with President Biden set to announce a date to withdraw all troops,

hoping to accomplish something his predecessors could not.

Question is, will the conditions on the ground allow him to keep the date this time?
