A third attempt at a ceasefire is now underway after efforts to evacuate civilians failed twice over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's president is blasting world leaders for their, quote, silence as he warns of a new wave of Russian attacks. Three questions this morning. Will this

After violating two ceasefire attempts over the weekend, Russia says its military will hold its fire this morning and allow humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to evacuate.

The ceasefire began earlier today in four major Ukrainian cities.

It comes at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron, who held a nearly two-hour-long

phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia yesterday.

It's unclear when the ceasefire would end.

The announcement comes after Russian forces violated a temporary ceasefire in the port city of Maripole

yesterday, hampering evacuation with a barrage of shelling.

Ukrainian officials say Russian shelling has hit critical infrastructure in the city, which is

desperately short of food, water, and medicine. According to the Red Cross, around 200,000 people are trapped in the city.

The situation in and around the capital of Kiev is no different. At least eight civilians,

including a family, were killed by Russians shelling yesterday. The photos of this made the rounds,

and are hard to see. An advisor of two President Zelensky described the situation

there as catastrophic. Meanwhile, President Zelensky is warning that Moscow is trying to renew

its push to take Odessa, another key port city on the southern coast, that would largely shut

off Ukraine from international shipping. This, as a third round of talks between the two sides,

are scheduled to take place later today.
