We saw the intake center where kids are tested for COVID and given duffel bags of clothes.

There's a dining hall, classrooms and dorm rooms, only four kids each. It was orderly and the children were calm,

some wearing hats they knit themselves. We saw kids playing soccer outside. We were not allowed

to speak to them, but members of the congressional delegation did. The White House allows access to a facility housing unaccompanied migrant children

as the president taps Vice President Harris to head up the effort to fix the crisis.

The question is whether the right policies and messaging are in place to get it done.

on immigration yesterday. He said the vice president would focus on two tracks, stemming the current

flow of migrants and addressing the root causes of their migration. Biden coordinated similar

efforts in Central America as President Barack Obama's VP. While announcing the appointment,

Biden highlighted Harris' experience as Attorney General

of California, saying she's upheld human rights while also fighting organized crime.
