We're going to start with that breaking news.

Brand new data has been released from a large clinical trial of AstraZeneca's coronavirus

vaccine here in the United States.

It shows the vaccine is 79% effective in preventing symptomatic illness and offers complete

protection against severe disease and hospitalization. AstraZeneca says it's going to continue

to analyze the data and prepare to submit analysis to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

for emergency use authorization in the coming weeks.

So there you go.

Now, though, let's go to the latest from the southern border as the United States sees its

biggest surge of migrants in decades.

According to data obtained by NBC News from Customs and Border Protection, as of yesterday,

as of yesterday morning, nearly 5,000 unaccompanied migrant

children are in custody. And of those, over 800 have been in detention for more than 10 days.
