Way too early running back rankings for 23

Next on fantasy football today and five.

Welcome to FFT and five. I'm Chris Towers here with Adam Azer and you heard me talk about my top five quarterbacks for 2023 on yesterday's episode today.

Adam and I are going to go through the, we'll see how many of the running backs we get through. And the way I want to do this, Adam, is we've all put together our top 12s for every position this week. And I'm going to just go through my top 12 running backs. You just stop me when you get to a player that you disagree with the order, all right? I want to see how many we can get to. Not many.

Go ahead.

Number one, Austin Echler. Nope. Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey's number two for me. I think you can put those two in any order, so we're not going to count that as a disagreement. I can go with either one of those guys. There's no wrong call. although it's going to be interesting to see where those two land in the overall rankings for everyone.

So that'll be something we talk about as the offseason goes on. But let's get to number three where I feel like you're probably going to disagree with this one. But I'm going to go with Jonathan Taylor last year's number one consensus running back. And you don't agree. Keep going. I agree. Oh, interesting. Okay. That was one of the

ones that I thought there was going to be some disagreement. But okay, number four, Sequin Barclay.

Keep going. Number five, Josh Jacobs. No, no. I put Joe Mix in here. Jacobs was one I had trouble with

because I don't know where he's going to be. Yeah, a lot of uncertainty. Yeah, his role in the passing game was really in flux throughout the season. And when Hunter Renfro and Darren Waller got healthy, it just wasn't the same. So I don't expect the same thing there. Plus, it's just he was so much better this year than he was the previous two years. So I'm a little bit lower. So I have mixed. And I hate mixing at five, by the way,

just a really inefficient season in a year where he should have been a much, much better rusher.

But it was a lot. One through four was fairly easy for me. And five was when it got tough.
