She was locked in the cafeteria. We ran out of the cafeteria and there were police outside.

I don't even, it felt like nothing. Like, it felt like within a second I was outside and there were cops and they told us to run.

And I was turning around screaming her name. I couldn't hear her. Everyone was screaming everyone's names. It was really loud, really hectic.

I'm Jonathan Lemire, and we appreciate you starting your day with us. And we'll begin this morning with another mass shooting in America.

This time at Michigan State University and East Lansing, Michigan.

The suspect is shooter.

This truly has been a nightmare that we are living tonight.

We are sad to report that there have been three confirmed fatalities.

This is in addition to the five victims who were injured and transported to the hospital.

Some of those five victims still have life-threatening injuries.

The suspected shooter, a 43-year-old male, died of an self-inflicted gunshot wound

after a confrontation with law enforcement officials off campus.

The police have not released his identity yet or disclosed the type of weapon he used.

The suspect, however, has no known connection to Michigan State, and police do not yet know a

motive.

Authorities are still identifying the victims and what connections they have with the school.
