I'm Allie Vitale on this Tuesday, February 11th, and we'll start with the news.

The Department of Justice is ordering federal prosecutors to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The order from acting Deputy Attorney General Emile Bov would

dismiss all charges against Mayor Adams without prejudice, which means they could be refiled

in the future. Adams was charged with one count of conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from

foreign nationals and commit wire fraud and bribery, two counts of soliciting campaign

contributions from foreign nationals, and one count of soliciting and accepting a bribe.

NBC News reports in a memo, the DOJ argued that the indictment of Adams in September came too close to this year's mayoral primary in June, months before, by the way.

But they said that it limited Adams' ability to aid President Donald Trump's crackdown on immigrants and to fight crime.

Without citing specific evidence, they also suggested that the charges were politically motivated.
