The manhunt continues this morning for the suspect who shot and killed the CEO of United Healthcare yesterday morning,

and a brazen shooting in Midtown Manhattan, will bring you the very latest in that investigation.

Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, Donald Trump's pick for defense secretary met with Republican senators for a third straight day

to address years of troubling allegations against him.

Good morning and welcome to way too early on this Thursday, December 5th. I'm Jonathan Lemire. Thanks for starting

your day with us. We'll begin here in New York City, where police are still looking for the

gunmen who killed the CEO of United Healthcare. Brian Thompson was shot yesterday morning in

Midtown Manhattan just before he was set to speak at a conference at a busy Hilton

hotel. NBC News correspondent Stephen Romo has the latest. Steve?

Hey there, Jonathan. This all-out search continues. Detectives with the NYPD really emphasizing

they believe this was a premeditated, pre-planned, targeted attack.

Now that gunman getting away first on foot and then on an e-bike, according to NYPD.

But originally they had told us that it was a city bike that he got away on, a bike you can

rent in areas around the city.

But now a source familiar with this telling us that it was not a city bike, it was a

different type of e-bike.

Brian Thompson, though, gunned down, shot in the back, and then the leg as he approached

the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

Surveillance video shows that gunman fire at Thompson.
