Good morning and welcome to way too early on this Thursday, November 3rd. I'm Jonathan

Lamere. Thanks for starting your day with us. We'll begin with President Joe Biden's speech on the

midterm elections and the future of our nation's democracy. The president delivered the remarks

last night from Washington's Union Station, just blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

He spoke for almost 20 minutes, addressing the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband, the big lie,

and other threats to our democratic institutions.

This intimidation, this violence against Democrats, Republicans, and nonpartisan officials, just doing their jobs

are the consequence of lies toll for power and profit, lies of conspiracy and malice,

lies repeated over and over to generate a cycle of anger, hate, vitriol, and even violence.

In this moment, we have to confront those lies with the truth.

The very future of our nation depends on it.
