Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is expected to return to Capitol Hill today to convince Senate Republicans to nominate Matt Gates for Attorney General.

Senator John Kennedy confirmed to NBC News yesterday that he will be meeting with Vance and the former Florida Congressman.

Kennedy is a member of the Judiciary Committee.
