Lemire. Thanks for starting your day with us. And we'll begin with the high-stakes meeting between

President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Arriving at a critical time, the summit was held in Woodside, California, a lush estate

there, about 35 miles south of San Francisco.

The meeting marked their first time together in just over a year.

She was quoted through a translator as telling President Biden that it was, quote,

not an option for either country to turn its back on the other. He said there is enough room to

coexist and be successful and that one country's success is an opportunity for the other.
