President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping are meeting right now on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

It's a highly anticipated sit down with President Biden saying he hopes to establish red lines for both sides.

And we're closer to determining which party will control Congress for the next two years.

Democrats have held on to the Senate and still have a chance at keeping the House.

Good morning and welcome to way too early on this Monday, November 14th. I'm Sam Stein in Washington

alongside Jonathan Lemire, who's reporting live this morning from

Bali, Indonesia. President Joe Biden will hold a news conference in just a few hours as he

meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping, their first in-person visits since Biden took office.

Comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and China over technology, Taiwan, and China's

tacit support of Russia's war in Ukraine.

But President Biden is counting on his personal relationship with Xi to establish red-line issues.

I know I'm coming in stronger, but I don't need that.

I know Xi Jinping. I spent more time than any other need that. I know Xi Jinping. I spent more time

than any other world leader. I know him well. He knows me. There's no, we have very little

misunderstanding. We just got to figure out where the red lines are, what are the most important

things to each of us going into the next two years. And his circumstances changed to state the obvious at home and

so we're going to have a we're going to have i think i've always had straightforward discussion

there's never any any um miscalculation about what each of us where each of us stand i think

that's critically important
