Lots of news to get to, and we begin with the House of Representatives, which is still at a standstill

this morning, after Republicans failed to coalesce around a single nominee for Speaker during the

first day of the 118th Congress yesterday. House Republicans kicked off their new position in the

majority by plunging the lower chamber into a level of disarray that it hasn't seen in a century.

For the first time since 1923, a vote on the next speaker was not decided on the first ballot.
