Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the House will lay the groundwork next week for what's called

reconciliation, and that process would let them pass the bill with only Democratic votes.

Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Jen Saki reiterated that they would like Republican support,

and lawmakers say that bipartisan talks are ongoing. The president spoke to Senators Susan Collins and Rob Portman this week as he tries to assess where Republicans stand on the bill.

But some administration officials acknowledge privately the reconciliation option seems increasingly likely.
