The acting U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., is launching an internal review of the department's

capital riot prosecutions. Ed Martin, who's been an advocate for the January 6th defendants,

made the announcement in an email to Justice Department colleagues.

Martin referred to the review as

Project 1512, which is a felony obstruction charge that was actually used against hundreds of

capital rioters. The Supreme Court ruled last year that the charge was too broadly applied.
