Republicans continue to equate the small number of classified documents found in President Biden's

former office to the nearly 200 pieces of government material that were stashed at Maralago.

And a new discovery could help them muddy the waters even further, we'll explain.

Aides to President Biden have found more classified documents outside the White House in a different

location than the batch we learned about earlier in the week. A person familiar with the matter

tells NBC News that during an exhaustive search of the president's

belongings from his time as vice president, at least one other batch was discovered. That search

started in November in response to the discovery of about a dozen other classified documents that

were found in a Washington, D.C. office used by Biden after his time in the Obama administration.

The classification level of any of these documents remains unclear at this moment.

It's also not yet known when or where the second batch of documents were discovered or how many

were found. President Biden addressed the matter on Tuesday about the original batch, saying his team was

cooperating fully with the Department of Justice review of the matter.

In those remarks, however, the president didn't mention that more documents had been found,

aside from the ones we initially learned about.
