Today we're obviously going to talk about water, but before we do, and since this is our first

episode of a brand new podcast, let me tell you about what

we're doing here. Let's start with the name. In architecture, a clear story window brings light

into a dark space, so it's the perfect metaphor for this podcast. We want to shed light on the

interesting and often untold stories behind the way we design, build,

renovate, and live in our homes. We'll explore how the two-by-four helped settle the West and led

to the rise of Chicago, and how it was also part of the reason that that city burned to the ground.
