Hey everybody, welcome back to another edition of the Water Into Wine podcast, whether you're listening to this at 7 a.m. or 7 p.m. Maybe pour a glass of wine, maybe don't. Like, I'm drinking Coke and water right now.

Ketley's drinking wine, and we are so excited to be here. So Ketley, are you excited about our conversation today? Yes, I'm excited about our conversation because we're talking about hard conversation. Oh, this is going to be so hard. Oh, so hard. So tense. I love good tension. I love get tension. So when I first brought this idea to Grace, I was kind of like on the back and forth, you know, we're discussing kind of like, what do you want to do for February?

And I'm like, I love that all these great businesses and organizations are, you know,

paying respects to Black History Month.

But my frustration is, you know, come March 1st, nothing else gets said about it so i said what if

we just had an episode of how to continually have not just conversations on race but just hard

conversations in general because you know i love that people want to talk about you know

racial conversations in february and then nothing else in march or march comes around nothing

else you know happens after that.

But I'm like, guys, guess what?

I am black all months of the year.

So I love to have a conversation literally any time in April, December, like, whatever.

So let's expand it because I also want to just talk about how conversations can be

had by Christians who should be leading them in the first place. Yeah, well, no, I love that because actually I even, this isn't, we didn't talk about bringing this up, but I think recently I was talking about something that like for a future book that kind of made me want to squirm. Like, I don't know what I can say right now about it, but it will, it's not my next book out, but it's the next book after that and just involving like the cover and that they may want to put my face on it and it's funny because I think if you know me personally you're probably like grace would love that and like yeah I would love a photo shoot but I think I first felt very convicted and kettley was great because I brought it up to her I'm like I know I'm a And Ketley was like, well, you can't help that you're

white. And it was great to have a conversation with her about it all just to like have a friend that you can be honest with about something hard. And like, I'm like, is this is this privilege? Is this whatever? And she broke down. She goes, well, yeah, there will be people who like maybe turned off by it but at the same time if that's like what the wise publisher wants you to do like

you can't help that you're white like but you can work towards and you should ask those hard conversations like you should have those questions and so I really appreciate that the other day and I think that's just so rare today that you can have a friend that you can call without being feared that you're gonna say the wrong thing or you're gonna do the wrong thing that you can be honest about like something you're going through

or something that's going on in the world and you can be like, hey, this is what's going on. I don't know. So no, definitely. I think that's something I appreciate about like grace and nice conversation is that we are both like, I guess for the most part confrontational. And we don't mind the tension. we don't mind like having the conversation that needs to be had. Um, so I took to Instagram and, ooh, you did. Yes, we asked you guys. Hey, yes, we did. I'm kidding. Um, are you confrontational? And it was really interesting because, you know, a lot of the followers I know personally, and I kept like seeing all of these responses.

I'm like, really?

But 72% of y'all said, no, you're not confrontational.

And then the next one, the next poll said, do you fight for closure?

And this one surprised me.
