Summary

Abby and Robbie dispel some of the hype around the Joker movie and give a review of the politically charged Watchmen series. Mike Prysner from Eyes Left joins the show to go over the scandal in the latest Call of Duty depicting the "Highway of Death" as a Russian war crime. They then go over the timeline of Trump's "troop withdrawal" from Syria, which was really just a rerouting of forces to the perpetual occupation of Iraq while keeping hundreds stationed to protect the oil fields in Syria. The episode closes out talking about the death of ISIS leader Al Baghdadi and the sickening ritualistic bloodlust surrounding these targeted assassinations. *Warning Watchmen (comic book & movie) Spoilers 10:00-30:00* Thanks for listening! So we wanted to start today's episode by just talking about, you know, a few sort of politicized

0:45.6

pieces of entertainment that are going around in culture right now.

0:52.2

One of them being the Joker movie, which had quite a controversial media campaign

0:57.4

before it's released, during its release. Well, actually not so much during because once it came out,

1:02.4

I think a lot of that negative hype sort of dissipated. But basically it seemed like people

1:07.8

were anticipating or almost wishing for a mass shooting event at the Joker premiere, like on the opening day, which I just found really strange how much people were hyping up this idea that it was a love letter to in cells, that this movie was going to actually inspire real violence, that this movie, of course, was going to

1:31.4

inspire mass shootings because James Holmes, the Aurora shooter, dressed as the Joker, and was

1:36.7

inspired by the Joker to shoot up the Batman screening of Dark Night Rises, the Chris Nolan film.

1:43.5

When in fact, it was actually a misstatement made by a cop, like a rumor, that a cop

1:50.8

repeated at a press conference about the Joker, trying to connect it in some way to the

1:55.3

Batman screening that the mass shooting took place at.

1:58.4

Actually didn't have anything to do with the Joker.
