My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother St. Joseph, my

father, and Lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me. With your permission, Lord Jesus Christ,

truly present with us in the blessed sacrament.

The miracle of the gospel is that the gospel is permanent, it hasn't changed, it won't change,

but it speaks with us very personally. That's the miracle.

When you're God, you have that perk to speak to us in an eternal way through the inspired word

called sacred scripture.

And the culminating writing of the whole Bible

are the words of Jesus and his actions.

The early Christians had so much devotion to the word of God that they saw it as nourishment.

It's revealed by Jesus' nourishment.

And they would divide the Mass in two parts.

They would call the first part of the Mass, not the liturgy of the Word, but the table of the Word.

And that's why you have, well, it's

a lectern, but it's a little bit, it's a jazzed up lectern because it's supposed to

remotely look like a table. Just to stress that we are nourished by the words of God, especially

by the words of Jesus, and that in those words,

he is present, not with the full presence that he enjoys behind that veil of bread and wine,
