Looming over everything is one question, will Joe Biden stay in the race and face the Caesar of the Republican Party, Donald Trump,

who this week chose a running mate, dodged prosecution in the classified documents case,

and most dramatically of all, narrowly escaped death from a would-be assassin's bullet.
