So there was some news today.

Not the kind of news that was shocking necessarily,

but I have to admit John Allen being given permission to seek a trade.

Ben was on with me last week at the end of the week and he said, I'm leaning in the direction that he's going to either be traded or released.

He said it again yesterday on the show. And I kind of thought, and I look at their roster and I'm like, well, they might need him next year.

And so I actually said I wouldn't wager one way or the other, but it wouldn't shock me if he's back next year.

And they work out some sort of restructuring of the deal or a contract

extension, but it looks like they are ready to move on from John Allen.

I have some thoughts, but what are yours?

Well, look, John Allen was a good player while he was here.

Wasn't a great player, but he was a good player.

Part of the Alabama defensive tackle duo that we thought would anchor a beast of a

defensive line, and that never materialized, really.

But he was a good player, okay?

Good locker room guy. He was a good contributor. Okay, good locker room guy.

He was a good contributor.

I think he made a couple pro balls.
