On March 1st, 2008, at 4.30 in the morning, officer Charles Dickerson at the Rains County Sheriff's

Office received a call saying that there had been a shooting at the home belonging to the

Caffee family. The only officer on duty at the time, he rushed to the modest cabin at the end of a one-lane gravel road

that sat in a rural community of Texas between Sulphur Springs and Tyler.

Everyone knew the Caffee family.

But at the time, Charles Dickerson had no clue how this one phone call would affect the entirety of their small community.

Getting closer to the house, he noticed that the entire thing was engulfed by flames.
