0:17.7	She writes, Pastor John, how can it be just to punish someone innocent in the place of

0:23.6	I've heard it said that the cross was unfair but I can't bring myself to say that God
0:27.9	would do anything that's unfair.
0:30.4	No, we surely cannot say that God would do anything unfair and that is not a small question.
0:37.8	It's a biblical question.
0:39.9	Justice does demand that punishment happen to the one who committed the sin.
0:50.2	Deuteronomy 24-16 fathers shall not be put to death for their children nor shall children
0:55.9	be put to death because of their fathers.
0:58.4	Each one shall be put to death for his own sin, period.
1:02.8	That's why the cross is an offense to the Jews and should it be?
1:07.7	That's the question.
1:08.7	Is it just?
1:09.7	Does it break God's law?
1:11.0	Did God break God's law in presuming to cause Christ to be a substitute?
1:17.5	And it's the very heart of the gospel so you can't ask a question any more essential than
1:22.4	this because 1 Corinthians 15-3 says Christ died for our sins.
1:27.4	1 Peter 3-18 Christ suffered once for all the righteous for the unrighteous, just as blunt
1:34.1	as it could be that this seems wrong.
